What the form collects
When you submit the form, this is stored:
- Your site address, so I can look at the problem.
- Your description of what is wrong, in your own words.
- Your email address, so I can reply.
- Your phone number, only if you choose to give one.
What is recorded automatically
Alongside the form, the submission records:
- The page you came from, and which version of the advert you saw.
- A Google click identifier, if you arrived from a Google advert. It tells me which advert produced an enquiry and nothing about you personally.
- Your browser's user agent string and your IP address, kept to identify automated spam submissions.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages
people arrive on. It sets cookies (names beginning _ga) so a returning
visitor is not counted twice, and Google receives the fact of your visit.
That is the only third-party script on the page. There is no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking. When an enquiry comes from a Google advert, the advert is matched to it on the server using the click identifier in the link you followed, rather than by a tag running in your browser.
You can refuse the cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's own opt-out add-on. The site works exactly the same either way.
Everything else is still served from this domain: every font, every image. Live chat is under consideration and is not installed today.
Where it goes
Into a private database on the server that runs this site, readable only by me. It is not sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or added to any mailing list. There is no newsletter and no follow-up sequence.
Enquiries are kept while they are useful for doing the work and keeping records of it, and deleted when they are not.
Asking for your data, or its removal
Email brad@wpresshelp.com and ask. You can have a copy of what was stored about you, or have it deleted. No account or verification hoop, just say which.
